Title taken from Antal Szerb’s classic novel. This painting, executed on a gesso and grit prepared panel, continues some of the themes explored in my commissioned piece for The Royal Museums in Greenwich, London as the prize for winning Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2023. The scene depicted is of four laden Wherries on a river in Norfolk, UK.
